Priya, an idea enriched brain with bubbling smartness and enough unfaded confidence and boldness to dive against high waves to standalone as an Entrepreneur in the midst of high competition turbulence. She always had a passion towards exploring different tastes from across places. But like many others, she hid her dreams, behind a desk, so that she could make her earnings for a happy life. It was during such a “very normal” day, that an opportunity knocked at her door. She never took a second thought in grabbing the deal, and this gave rise to “Big Shake”.With a menu including different milkshakes, snacks and other rare dishes, Big shake welcomes you to its ideal location, near kazhakoottam, opposite to Techno Park, where its outlet is situated, satisfying its customers successfully.

From an IT employee to an Entrepreneur

“Working behind a desk, in a room filled with artificial light and atmosphere, is never anyone’s dream, especially not mine. I did love my work and was committed to it till the very end, but I am more of a person who is into the outside world, the sunlight, the fresh air, the people and the interactions” says Priya, with a bright smile, as she unveils the story behind her initiative. Being basically from Chennai, from a family inclined towards the food industry, Priya always had her dream to start her own initiative in the same field. But time was never in her favour and took her to a desk-based Tech job. She worked there for more than five years, but the flame of passion always stood lit in her, with the same intensity. She waited for a good opportunity and grabbed it once it arrived to her. Priya points out her family to be her biggest support in her journey to conquering her dreams.

As for Priya, construction of a good basic idea was the most herculean task. “Passing through different ideas, varying from South Indian Dishes to Continental dishes, it took months to finally reached to this idea of a milkshake house. Once the idea was brought up, the percentage of its success and the uncertain future became the biggest concerns” expressed with a blank face and a mind drowned in thoughts.

 In her later development of Milkshake House idea, she added excessive travel in her to-do list.  With the basic plans structured and set, she travelled to different places, across India, exploring different tastes for her menu and sorting out from the best chefs for its best possible preparation. It was this journey that gave rise to most specialities of Big Shake, including “Kati roll”, a traditional Kolkata dish, found in 1932, is one among the customer demanded items in the menu list. With tasty fillings enfolded in Indian flatbread, Kati roll can once a while, act as a substitute to a meal.

 “Bubble tea”

“Bubble Tea” the cold, milk tea originated from Taiwan during the 1980’s is one another speciality of Big Shake, which gives it a trademark for currently being the only spot in Trivandrum, serving this Chinese cold tea. And thus, finally, after long initial preparations, within a period of six months, her dream was launched. Apart from the basic initial lag, Big Shake now conquered the taste buds of different food lovers and explorers.
