With more than 50 colleges in Kerala postponing their college fests , there has been a lot of cancellation of professional band shows. Even though social media provides a platform for freelance musicians , live performance and recordings are the source of income for them.
According to J S Gokul , a freelance Bassist , the revenue coming from each professional gigs decides what is next when comes to the life of a musician . When the outbreak struck various cities where he was supposed to perform there was no other option rather than cancelling the gig and the most uncertain factor is that they are not sure whether the gig is postponed to some other month or the event itself is cancelled.
