The 14th Prime minister of India the Honourable Narendra Damodardas Modi Outside of Indian National congress, he is the first Prime minister to win two consecutive terms with full majority and to second person to complete five years in the office after Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Journey from Birth
He was born on 17th September 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat. His father was a tea seller and he continued the stall later in time. At the age of eight, he was introduced to RSS ( Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sang) and thus began his long association with the group. Due to an arrange marriage with Jashodaben Chimanlal, he left his home after his higher secondary studies. Later in future he had acknowledged that he had abandoned relation. Before returning back to Gujarat, he spend two years of his life travelling around India, visiting different religious centres. On coming back, during the period of 1971, he became a full time worker in RSS. Modi was forced to go into hiding during the state of emergency imposed across the country during 1975 and later in 1985, he was introduced to BJP by the RSS group. He served different hierarchical positions in the party until 2001, when he was rose to the rank of general secretary.
Modi was made the Chief minister of Gujarat in 2001 due to the failing health and poor image of Keshubhai Patel. He was soon elected to the legislative assembly and the rest journey to becoming a powerful ruler and the current Prime minister is history. Even when the journey being filled with, up and downs, controversies, supports and much more, his determination to gaining success, his journey from a tea seller to the Prime Minister of India, is a point to be noted without a miss.

Talking about his political life, the general election of 2014, were BJP gained a majority in the Lok sabha, (lower house of parliament), was led by Narendra Modi. Such a majority win for a single party was a first since 1984. Modi’s administration has tried and succeeded in raising foreign direct investments in India, while he reduced his spending’s in the health and social welfare sectors. He began a high profile sanitation campaign and continues it beautifully, but the environment and labour laws seems to be weakened. His contributions in Gujarat gained him a lot praises and fame. His act of demonetization of high denominated bank notes had increased both support and controversies for him. And so goes the story of Narendra Damodardas Modi…..
