The world finally got the first opportunity to see the newest member of Britain’s royal family, baby Archie on this Wednesday as Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, brought baby Archie along to meet the South African icon Desmond Tutu. Even though the royal family has been keeping Archie who is Queen Elizabeth’s eighth great-grandchild and also the seventh in line to the British throne, it was only a matter of time before world got to meet him. It was only recently that Harry and Meghan released photos of baby Archie’s birth and christening.
Nobel Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu, seemed exited as well as overjoyed to meet four-month-old Archie as the royal family arrived for a private visit in Cape Town. While have a tea-and-chat with another African family, they said that baby Archie was calm and quiet during the long flight and most of the time he was just resting.
Tutu was one of the friends of Nelson Mandela who was put behind bars because of the revolution against White rule, while Tutu led the revolution. Before stepping inside with the royal family for the small talk about responsibilities of parenting, he cooed and touched Archie affectionately.
After reaching Cape Town on Wednesday, the Royals met Tutu along with his wife and daughter at their legacy foundation and they had their conversation during which Archie not only behaved himself but also posed for the camera’s too. It was at this time that Tutu’s daughter Thandeka Tutu- Gxashe jokingly said he was a “ladies man” who seemed to be so comfortable with all the media around him.
