The minister quoted that the farmers can now select and order the machinery that they need at a suitable price from Custom Hiring Centers in a 50 km radius and he also said that till date about 40,000 custom hiring service centers have registered on this app for renting over 1,20,000 agricultural machineries and equipments. Through this app one single farmer can offer his help to many other farmers by demonstrating best practices of cultivation with high quality crops. This way the farmers will be able to follow best practices that are suitable for their crops. This app also facilitates geo-tagging and geo-fencing and can also give weather forecast to farmers. The minister requested all farmers to make the most out of this app in order for the betterment of their cultivation methods and thereby ensuring higher agricultural productivity.
The CHC Farm Machinery which is bi-lingual is now available to custom service providers for registration and uploading with geo-reference photographs of agricultural machinery custom service centers and photographs of machinery available in it. This app helps out small and marginal farmers the most. They will have access to modern agricultural equipments which will increase the income of the farmers, and also take mechanization to maximum farm holdings in a short time frame.
Custom Hiring Centers/ Farm Machinery banks and Hi-tech hubs have been established under the various Schemes like Sub–Mission on Agricultural Mechanization, RKVY and Crop Residue Management Schemes of the DAC&FW, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers welfare to provide Agricultural Machinery on rental basis to the Farmers. This is helpful for small and marginal farmers who cannot afford to buy the high value machinery & equipments.
