India celebrates its independence on 15th August of every year. 2019, marks the 73rd year of Independence for India. When comparing the 1947 situations to the current day, India has very well developed more than 100% from its initial stage. When India isn’t as developed as many other countries, it still maintains a good pace of development in all the notable sections namely infrastructure, health, education, sports etc.
On this day of Independence, one of the few days when the patriotism in us hikes to the peak, let’s take a moment to look back to the days of struggle, the day we actually attained freedom, and then travel slowly back to the current day, analyzing the developments that we as Indians should be proud of. So, what was the situation of our country during its initial days of freedom?
India only had a literacy rate of 24.9% among Male and 7.9% among female, modes of transport were very few and contact options were almost nil. Today the situation were we call a friend in USA or book a ticket to far off destination, itself proves the extend of development that India has achieved. Talking about a few more statistics, Population of India has taken a peak ride from 361 million to 1.3 billion, India had a literacy rate of only 16.6% and has now increased to 74%, Per capita income was Rs.274 back in those days while now it is Rs.1,03,000 ( even when this cannot be considered a fair way of calculation, as living cost has increased to a great extend too), In India there ran only 0.3 million privately owned vehicles were as now it has vigorously increased to 210 million, doctors have increased from 59000 to 0.8 million and so on….
A proud mention about the development of India is that it never restricted itself inside its own boundaries, but was, and still is, spreading across the globe, a very few among the very special mentions being Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam,C.V. Raman, Bhodhidharma Dharma, Kalpana Chawla, Shah Rukh Khan, Sundar Pichai, mary Kom ,Sachin Tendulkar and so on. India has shown its presence to the world in every field, sports, medicine, research, arts and so on goes the list.
India or “Mother India” as we call it, is diverse in every aspect, landscapes, culture, traditions, languages etc. But the unity that we have found in all these diversities is what keeps us successful and going. Again, on this special occasion, we (The World Women News) would like to request you to keep the patriotism flowing through your veins, not just during the few days of sports or such special occasions, but thought out your life. Never to do something against our country, ‘cause as we all say it, “It starts with us”. On this day, let’s take a solemn decision to take our country even further ahead in development, to never go against it & react to any injustice ( because unlike the general saying, society doesn’t always get better just because we are good, sometimes it needs some proper actions for the same)
