Thai cuisines are rich in its flavor and variety. The dishes go hand-in-hand with the country’s tradition and culture. It was strictly restricted within the territory over a period of time.Now, though we get Thai food almost everywhere, though the dishes are easy to make since it contains very less ingredients the real taste can be enjoyed only when it is made by some one from the same place. The street food of Thailand  boost up ones eagerness. The green Curry which is made out of aromatic herbs and spices powders, ‘Phad Thai’is a stir-fried rice noodle dish served in the streets, Tod Mon’ dish made out of fish etc are some of the best Thai items that  excites our taste buds .Thai cuisine is unfinished without its sweets and deserts. ‘Khanom Krok’ and ‘Itim’ are one of the oldest delicious Thai deserts which are still enjoyed by the lucky people of Thailand.

Tom Yum Goong a popular shrimp soup is interesting with its distinctive ingredients and symphony of flavors.It is served in the streets, as well in grand feasts. It has even reached foreigh hotels menus . ‘Tom’ here refers to the process of boiling ,Yum’ to the spicy salad and Goong to the shrimps. Tom Yum Goong is a mixture of vegetables and spices made into a soup.This simple dish tastes the best when shrimps are added .Some say that the dish was first made due to abundance of fresh water prawns.

Sometimes we  have a tough time in cooking Non-Vegetarian dishes. But this can easily be made at home. If you are a foodie, don’t miss this aromatic and delicious Thai soup.

Herbs including lemon grass, galangal and Kaffir lime leaves, along with garlic cloves and chillies are added to two liters of boiling water.  Shrimps are then tossed in when the aroma oozes out of the mixture. Wedged onions and tomatoes along with the pre rinsed mushrooms are added after two minutes. finally fish sauce and sugar is added to balance the sour salty taste. Before transferring the soup into a bowl, there is a traditional way of sprinkling lemon juice and cilantro.

Not just tasty this dish is healthy as well  wherein it contains minerals like calcium, potassium and iron.. Lemon grass and galangal are highly rich in its nutritional value. Lemon grass contains anticancer components and galangal is known for its antioxidant properties. This food is low at cholesterol and high at carbohydrates.
